Getting Pregnant: What should I do?

by Hannah
(Malaysia)

Hi there. I'm one of the women out there who really wanna have a baby. I'm 25 years old, weight: 40kg, height 154cm, married for 2 and a half years with no kids.

I use combined OC for 18 months and after I stopped taking it, I cannot get pregnant until now. My period is regular and my cycle is around 25 to 28 days. I've tried taking Vitex for few months and try to improve my diet.

I used ovulation predictor kit, and my LH surge usually on day 11 to 13. I also use the microscope saliva test, and the crystallized period is around day 17-19. I've tried having sex from day 7 until end of the cycle, but still nothing. Every month we tried to have sex as frequent as possible (but not everyday).

However, my cervical mucus is very low. I do not have the watery mucus that should appear on fertile days. This problem started around 6 months ago. I also lost my libido since I started working.

My husband is the same age with me, both of us are non smoker and non drinker, and we are healthy on general.

I've tried to control my stress in conceiving but I just cant. Everyone keeps asking and some of my friend keep showing off that they are pregnant.

Please help me....

Getting Pregnant and Fertile Mucus
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

You are very young and will get pregnant soon. I would recommend to take you basal body temperature (BBT) and draw a chart. This is important in your case since it seems like there is a discrepancy between your LH surge and your ferns crystallization. You need to know how your BBT changes during your monthly cycle. This will give you more important information about ovulation and conception time. Read this article on understanding ovulation charts.

Having sex every two days during your fertile window is fine. Sometimes having sex too often weakens the sperm. Having lots of fertile mucus is very important to keep the sperm alive while you ovulate. It is important to do things to increase the quality and quantity of your fertile mucus. Read my article on ways to increase your fertile mucus. Sometimes supplementation is necessary and the article explains which supplements can help you increase your fertile mucus.

Also, do not stress yourself about getting pregnant. As I said, you are very young and you have very good chances of getting pregnant soon. Try the fertility affirmations. Let go of your fears and allow your creative energies to be expressed.

All the best,
