Is it safe to do fertility yoga for Endometriosis.
Hi, I wanted to purchase the fertility yoga book, but not sure if I can do yoga as I have endometriosis. I had a failed IVF cycle last month & I've been trying to conceive for the last 5 yrs.
Is it safe for me to do the fertility yoga?Answer:
Yoga for fertility is very safe while trying to conceive and for those suffering from endometriosis. There is no contraindication of doing yoga if you have endometriosis
Yoga in fact helps increase the circulation around the uterus and can help decrease discomfort and pain associated with endometriosis. If you are in doubt talk to your health care practitioner.
The cause of endometriosis is unknown, but one possible cause is that the menstrual blood flows backward from the uterus. This is called retrograde flow. It is very important to avoid inversion yoga poses while menstruating.
Another possible cause of endometriosis is the malpositioning of the uterus. Yoga can helps readjust the uterus in its proper location.
Endometrial cells respond to estrogen, thus excess estrogen can make endometriosis worse. In this case yoga can help balance the endocrine system assisting the body in balancing estrogen and progesterone.
Recent studies have indicated that there is a link between hypothyroidism and auto-immunity and endometriosis. In this study, 44% of women who had endometriosis also ad either hypothyroid or auto-immunity. By doing yoga, it is possible to stimulate the thyroid gland and support its normal functioning and boost the immune system.
Also, fertility yoga is great for those who have a stressful life style. Yoga has a positive effect on the parasympathetic nervous system, increasing a sense of calmness, promoting better sleep and a more positive outlook.
It also helps supports the adrenal glands helping you better adjust to stressful situations and daily challenges.
Yoga prepares new mom for a healthy delivery by strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, the legs and the legs. You will increase your flexibility and if you suffer from back pain, yoga will help you, too.
I am sure you will love doing yoga for fertility.
