Expert Advice on Natural Fertility

Low Ovarian Reserve Treatment Naturally

by Nancy

I have been diagnosed with low ovarian reserve. I am 31 and I have been on birth control pill since I was 20 years old. My doctor told me that my FSH levels are high and that this is the cause of low ovarian reserve that might made it difficult for me to conceive without fertility assisted therapies, IVF. Before I go that way, I want to explore a natural approach if possible. I would like to know what can it be done naturally for a cease like mine and how long would it take. I am really desperate to get pregnant but I want to avoid drugs and IVF without trying it first.
Thank you for you assistance in advance.

Treating Low Ovarian Reserve Naturally
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

There are many natural options available to woman who are suffering from low ovarian reserve due to hormonal imbalance like high FSH.

FSH hormone is secreted by the pituitary gland and stimulates the ovaries to produce a follicle that contains an egg. Each month a number of follicles begin to grow within the ovaries and eventually at ovulation the mature follicle releases a mature egg, which can be fertilized.

High levels of FSH indicate premature ovarian failure. In your case it is premature because you are in your early thirties and not near menopause. If fact, women normally have high levels of FSH near menopause around age 48-50.

In younger woman or women who do not suffer from high levels of FSH, the pituitary gland has to secrete a small amount of FSH in order to stimulate the growth and development of ovarian follicles. In women with high FSH, the pituitary gland has to continue secreting higher and higher FSH as the ovaries become lazy and do not respond as easily to the stimulation.

This is often associated with long therm use of birth control pill as birth control pill suppresses ovulation and puts the ovaries in temporary pause to avoid pregnancy. While on birth control pill a woman's ability to conceive is very, very low because ovulation is inhibited by synthetic hormones.

When a woman stops taking birth control pill, she might have a hard time regaining full fertility as a result of this.

The best way to stimulate ovulation is to help the body balance the hormones.

Most women with poor ovarian reserve and high FSH have also low LH plus low progesterone and high estrogen.

The best way is to take fertility supplements specific for poor ovarian reserve.

They are:

1. Maca to help increase progesterone production

2. Royal Jelly to stimulate ovulation naturally

3. CoQ10 to help make healthy eggs

4. Vitex to stimulate the pituitary gland to produce LH counterbalancing high levels of FSH
