Natural Progesterone Cream After D&C

by Kristina

I started taking natural progesterone cream to help with fertility. I am almost 41 years old. I became pregnant after 3 months of using the cream.

Unfortunately the baby had Trisomy 18 and I terminated the pregnancy with a D&C. Since stopping the progesterone cream just before the D&C and since the D&C I've had unbearable itching skin which is making me miserable.

I've read that low progesterone can cause itching. I was told to wait until after my first period to start trying to conceive again.

My question is this....It has been 2 1/2 weeks since the D&C and since I have to wait until after my first period to TTC can I start using the progest cream NOW and just stop it when I get my period?

Since I don't need to ovulate before my next period will this make a difference in any way?

Will it screw up my next cycle or delay it? If the progest cream helps with my itching I would love to be able to use it now rather than waiting for my first period to arrive and waiting until after ovulation.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Kristina,

It is very important to wait until your have your first period after D&C. This will tell that your uterus has been completely cleansed and that the endometrium is healthy.

Having your period is a natural cleansing process your body needs to kick start your hormonal cycle.

You really need to wait. You can start natural progesterone cream after that.

Many Blessings!

Starting Porgesterone Cream

Hi Kristina,

As far as the itching is concerned, it depends what is causing it. If this does not seem clear, it is hard to know what type of therapy is required. Taking to your family physician about this would be wiser.

A fertility cleanse may be more needed at this time as skin related issues are often connected with liver toxic overload.
