Natural Progesterone Cream After D&C

I started taking natural progesterone cream to help with fertility. I am almost 41 years old. I became pregnant after 3 months of using the cream. Unfortunately the baby had Trisomy 18 and I terminated the pregnancy with a D&C. Since stopping the progesterone cream just before the D&C and since the D&C I've had unbearable itching skin which is making me miserable. I've read that low progesterone can cause itching. I was told to wait until after my first period to start trying to conceive again. My question is this....It has been 2 1/2 weeks since the D&C and since I have to wait until after my first period to TTC can I start using the progest cream NOW and just stop it when I get my period? Since I don't need to ovulate before my next period will this make a difference in any way? Will it screw up my next cycle or delay it? If the progest cream helps with my itching I would love to be able to use it now rather than waiting for my first period to arrive and waiting until after ovulation. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
