PCOS causes

by Louise
(Ontario, CA)

I am been diagnosed with PCOS since the age of 25 and I am now 35. The cysts in my ovaries come and go and seem to get worse when my stress levels are higher. That's when I miss my periods and my cycle becomes really long. I just got married and we want to have kids but because of my condition I think need some help.

What causes PCOS? Is it curable with natural health? Will I be able to conceive? I have not been tested yet because I am fearful of what the tests will show. Can my ovaries be too old already?

Thanks,

Louise

Maria's Answer:
From a medical perspective, the real cause of PCOS is unknown but there are a number of factors that are responsible from the development of this condition.

1. There is a genetic factor that predisposes women to PCOS.

2. High levels of insulin in the blood or insulin resistance is closely associated with this condition.

3. High body fat or obesity.

4. Excessive production of male hormones.

5. Dysfunctions in hormonal regulation. The hypothalamus and pituitary gland are not efficient enough in stimulating the ovaries to produce adequate amounts of progesterone.

6. Environmental pollutants like xenoestrogens that mimic the effect of natural estrogen in the body. They bond to estrogen receptors instead of natural estrogen leading to estrogen dominance.
PSOS is not a disease is a syndrome, which means that a number of dysfunctions may be present and not all women experience the same range of symptoms.

Natural health can help address many of the symptoms associated with PCOS and it also can help women like you get pregnant without using assisted fertility treatments.

The first place to start is to look at the diet because there is a connection between PCOS and insulin resistance. In fact, high levels of insulin stimulate the storage of fat and the production of higher amounts of testosterone, which contributes to many symptoms of PCOS (hirsutism, hair loss, high cholesterol, anovulatory cycles, etc.)

A PCOS diet rich in vegetable protein and soluble fibers from foods with a low glycemic index is very beneficial to control PCOS.

Many women with PCOS do get pregnant and have healthy children. With natural health it will take about 6-8 moths to re-establish hormonal balance. The ovaries are not too old at your age! But ovulation patterns need to be regulate. It is very useful to learn fertility charting to see how your ovulation pattern are improving with diet changes and natural health therapies.

The PCOS Kit is an amazing product that contains all kinds of goodies to helps your conceive if your are suffering from PCOS.

It contains herbs and supplements that supports the body in maintaining a hormonal balance related to the formation of ovarian cysts and PCOS condition.

I hope this answers your questions and helps you with PCOS.

Fertility Blessings!

Periods Lasting Too Long
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

If you have been diagnosed with PCOS and have periods lasting for 20 days, make sure to talk to your doctor and keep a fertility chart to see if you are ovulating.

Hormonal imbalances are often the root cause of this, especially if this started happening after giving birth, but it is something that needs to be monitored by a OBGYN or a family physician, just to make sure you are not becoming anemic and to test to see your hormonal levels. Your doctor may also recommend an ultrasound to check the status of your uterus and ovaries to rule out pelvic infections, endometriosis or fibromas.

Hormonal imbalances related to PCOS can be treated naturally with herbal remedies and homeopathy.

All the best!
