by Maria

What is the best way to preserve the egg reserve for the future if she is completely celibate, and does not take any birth control pills?

Answer To Preserving Ovarian Reserve For The Future

The best way is to follow a healthy life style as much as possible. This includes avoiding drinking coffee and alcohol. It is also important to avoid hormonal disruptors that cause early menopause and to have ways to decrease stress by meditation and doing fertility yoga.

Check your cosmetics and your body and hair products as they contain chemicals known to affect fertility.

Also, do not use chemicals in your house and to treat your garden. Avoid pesticides grown fruits and vegetables and animal meat that was not raised organically.

Follow the fertility diet, take fertility vitamins especially the following:

Parabens & Phthalates
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

Following the fertility detox will assist your body in eliminating any toxins, including parabens. I do recommend regular detox yearly (except during pregnancy and lactation) to maintain hormonal balance and stay free of hormonal disruptors. Parabens are the one that are now been detected and put under scrutiny, but who knows what's going to be next. The true is that all man-made preservatives have potential effects on the body and some may never be identified as toxic and thus never pull out. So, be aware of the substitutes.

Most cosmetics and creams that contain water will need some sort of preservative and natural ones are more expensive because use essential oils.

Phthalates area another class of chemicals that is linked to hormonal disruption. Phthalates are known to affect development and impair female fertility and cause sperm damage in males. As a result of consumer pressure many have been eliminated from many cosmetics, but diethyl phthalate (DEP) and DEHP are still used in many products, including fragrances.

The problem is that most companies do not necessarily list phthalates on the label using the chemical name but simply use the word "fragrance."

Using the wording "No Synthetic Fragrance" could be a good sign, but the problem is that there is currently no regulation of these phrases and manufacturers are free to identify synthetic fragrance as natural fragrance. Many marketing companies are very creative in the use of words and can be deceiving.

What complicates things is that the FDA does not require companies to list synthetic fragrance chemicals on their labels.

So, it is really up to the manufacturer and some who market to pregnant women and babies like Earth Mama Angel Baby have made the conscious decision to eliminate all known toxic chemicals from their products. Some companies that make their living by keeping their customers happy and satisfied and whose main focus is to provide excellent natural products are probably telling the truth.

I hope this helps you,

Many Blessings!

Paraben detoxification
by: M...., NSW

Dear Maria,
Thank you so much for your answer. If you hadn't mentioned checking my cosmetics I would have kept on poisoning myself with the amount of body creams, perfumes and hair spray I had been using.
Now I have changed all my personal care cosmetics to be free from: Paraben, Sulfates, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Artificial Colours, etc...; and investigating possible hair dye options.

Now my question is would I be able to detox the Paraben content accumulated in my body? I am doing a fertility detox and practice fertility yoga daily, and I wonder the intensity that I could expect.

And one more question, are phthalates considered a synthetic fragrance, ie should I assume that a product stating No Synthetic Fragrance is free from Phthalates?

M...., NSW
