Hi my name is Maureen I am 30years old and was sterilized 3years ago. I am engaged at the moment and me and my new fiance really want to have a baby. Where do I start and what can I do in order for someone to help me, I am in the Nortwest area and is it possible to have it done in a state hosp as I don't have medical aid. Dear Maureen, it is possible to have a tubal ligation reversal and at your age you can get pregnant naturally afterward. My advice is to talk to your doctor and make an appointment with a specialist for the procedure. It is possible to have it covered by extended insurance plan, but you need to be on the plan for some time before you can ask for the procedure to be covered.

The success of tubal ligation reversal depends on the length of your tubes after reversal. Ideally one needs at least 5 cm (about 2 inches).
