Expert Advice on Natural Fertility

Secondary Infertility

by AMS
(PA)

I am 32 years old, 122 lbs 5'5 inches tall, I exercise regularly and eat healthy. My son is 4 years old and and I have been suffering from secondary infertility for 3 years.

My menstrual cycle is very regular (26-28 days), I always test positive on ovulation tests around days 12-15.
I was having 3-5 days of brown spotting before my period would come & i thought that was odd & my progesterone levels were low when tested. I finally figured out that I had mild endometriosis and had laporscopic surgery in March to remove it. I got pregnant the next month after the surgery but miscarried at 10 weeks (after I seen heartbeat on ultrasound) I had a D&C at the end of May. My period came back 28 days after D&C. And ever since the laporscopic surgery and D&C, my periods have been very heavy, I've been having a lot of cramping throughout the month, and have been feeling cramping on my right side right before ovulation.

I am currently taking New Chapter Perfect Prenatal whole food multivitamin, vitex, maca, fish oil, new chapter antioxidants, and new chapter immunity vitamins. I also take 50 mcg of synthroid every morning for hashimoto's thyroid disease.

This past month, as soon as my period was over I started using Castor oil packs with a heating pad and doing self fertility massage...I usually try to do them both twice a day. And it's been almost a week of doing this and today is day 10 of my cycle and I tested positive on my ovulation test this morning. This is extremely early for me to be ovulating. (On the month that I got pregnant, my ovulation test didn't test positive until day 15)
So, my question is would doing the fertility massage and Castor oil packs make my ovulation come early? And, does early ovulation indicate poor egg quality? And, since my ovulation test was positive & I'm actively trying to get pregnant....should I now stop using fertility massage & Castor oil?
Also, I purchased the progesterone cream from your website...so should I start using that after ovulation is over until I get my period?

Thanks, April

Castor Oil Packs
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

It is possible that the Castor oil therapy is affecting your cycle as it helps eliminate excess toxins that cause estrogen dominance. As excess estrogen is release, your body is trying to adjust.

Because you reported spotting before your periods, your corpus luteum was probably breaking down sooner putting you at risk for early miscarriage or short luteal phase. So, ovulating earlier is actually positive because you will have lots of time for implantation. Ovulating early does not indicate poor egg quality. You actually want to ovulate before day 16 of the menstrual cycle to fertilize healthy eggs.

As soon as you detect ovulation stop doing the Castor Oil and fertility massage.

It is recommended to apply the natural progesterone cream after ovulation, around day 12-14 until the day 28 of the menstrual cycle. These recommendations are based on the research of John R. Lee, M.D. He was the leading expert in the use of natural progesterone cream, who published many books on this topic.

Please, continue to work with you doctor in monitoring your thyroid gland and also your fertility. Natural health works well as a complement to proper medical care.

Fertility Blessings!
