by Vineela
(Kolkata, India)

Hi,

My name is Vineela. I am 26years old got married in 2009. I have PCOS problem. My periods were not at all regular. My mom has given me some ayurvedic medicine which I used in the month of November 2011 for 13days from the 3rd of last period. During these medication period I did not participate in sexual intercourse with my husband. Immediately after the medication period is over (3+13days=16days from the date of period) we participated in the sexual intercourse and the result is positive.
I am a pregnant now. I have taken USG and doctors confirmed that the embryo is weeks old.

I have noticed some red bleeding twice yesterday and some brown bleeding today. I am much worried about it. I have heard that brown bleeding is little dangerous. I don't have any pain in the abdomen.

What could be my problem. Is it really dangerous.

Kindly help me.

Thank you.

Regards,

Vineela

Answer:

Hi Vineela,

Bleeding during early pregnancy can be common, but you need to call your doctor to make sure everything is normal. Having a blood test done to measure the levels of progesterone and pregnancy hormones will provide an indication.

Spotting during early pregnancy can also indicate ectopic pregnancy, but you do not have to be concerned with this aspect as your doctor already confirmed the embryo with ultrasound.

Since you are familiar with ayurvedic medicine, consider continue to get support during your pregnancy.

Many blessings!
