What causes a tubal pregnancy?

by Allison
(NY)

I have had a tubal pregnancy 6 months ago and the doctor said we could try to conceive again. My right fallopian tube was taken out and I was told that may chances of getting pregnant are lower.

What causes a tubal pregnancy and what can I do to prevent having another one? I am 33 years old and I have never had a child before, this was my first pregnancy.
Your help and advice will be really appreciated.

Thank you.

Answer:

A tubal pregnancy is often referred to as ectopic pregnancy where the embryo develops outside of the uterus and in this case, inside the fallopian tube. The causes of a tuba pregnancy can be many and scarring is the most likely one. The presence of scar tissue on the inside surface of the fallopian tube can prevent the motion of very tiny hair like structures that are present in the fallopian tube whose job is to push the embryo down into the uterus where implantation will occur.

The most common causes of tubal scarring and damage are:

1. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) causes by sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, etc. Pelvic infections can destroy the delicate hair-like cells lining the fallopian tubes. PID scars the tubes causing blockage.

2. The uses of intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) puts a woman at increased risk of pelvic inflammation.

3. Endometriosis causes damage to the fallopian tubes as a result of endometrial implants that grow outside the uterus and in and around the fallopian tubes.

4. Surgery in the abdomen particularly involving the reproductive organs increase the risk of tubal or ectopic pregnancy. Tubal ligation or other can put women at high risk of tubal pregnancy.

5. Hormonal medications like fertility drugs such as Clomid and contraceptive hormonal medications that contain progesterone-like hormones can cause ectopic pregnancy.

To prevent having an ectopic pregnancy, it is important to know if the other tube is healthy. If so, you are fine and just need extra to time to get pregnant because each ovary releases an egg every other month.
If you only tube is also scarred you need to address this problem at once before trying to conceive again.

If your tube is scarred, the homeopathic remedy Thiosinaminum 6X has been proven to be very effective in help the body reabsorb internal scars.

Many Blessings!
