Birth Defects Risk An Conceiving A Boy
by Sudha

I have a 9years daughter, in middle I had one miscarriage. Now I want to get a pregnancy again with a boy, but I have one more doubt. In my father’s side of the family I have a deaf and dumb brother and on my husband’s side of the family he has a brother which is handicapped. So If I was pregnant, what problem would happen? I really want to have a healthy baby boy. Give me advice.
Answer: Hi Sudha,
I honestly don’t think you are at higher risk than anybody else, but just to make sure, it is important that you talk to your doctor about this concern. If the doctor thinks that there is a genetic component that could have been inherited by either you or your husband and that can be passed on to your child, he will send you to a genetist that will perform testing and assess the risk.
If the conditions of your relatives are not genetic but congenital, there is no risk to your baby.
A congenital condition is one acquired in the womb and does not have a genetic cause.
The best way to ensure that your baby will be as healthy as possible is for you and your husband to be healthy before conception.
In order to do this, avoid polluted air, alcohol, coffee and foods with additives and chemicals.
Follow the guidelines of the
fertility diet to get started.
In order to conceive a healthy baby and to maintain the DNA (the genetic material inherited by the baby) healthy the best thing to
do is to supplement with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that maintain your eggs and your husband’s sperm healthy and prevent birth defects cause by a lack of vitamins like spina bifida.
Studies have shown how low sperm count and infertility are more common in agricultural workers due to pesticides and other chemicals (American Journal of Industrial Medicine 24:587-592, 1993).
In fact, pesticide exposure decreases sperm quality. Recent studies have shown an association between sperm parameters and urinary pesticide levels (J Appl Toxicol. 28(5):674-80, 2008).
Pesticides are in fruits and vegetables and also animals are now eating grass or gram that has been sprayed with pesticides.
Toxicity is usually the major cause of free radicle damage that attacks the DNA and causes mutations leading to birth defects.
I would recommend looking into doing a
fertility cleanse before trying to conceive.
After the fertility cleanse if you want to increase the quality of your eggs
The Improve Eggs Health Kit can help increase the quality of your eggs. Oxidative stress impairs oocyte (egg) quality (J Pineal Res. 44(3):280-7, 2008). By taking anti-oxidants and the necessary fertility vitamins your body will have a better chance of produce healthy eggs before conception.
Your husband can also follow a
fertility cleanse and after that follow the
Male Factor Formula Kit protocol to ensure healthy sperm production.
I Hope this helps you. I am sure you will be fine and that your baby will be very healthy.
