Endometriosis And Fibroid Treatment
Hello, I am 37 yrs old, never been pregnant before and I am trying desperately to conceive now. I've been recently diagnosed with endometriosis.
I've always had painful periods from the inception and was on birth control. I have been off for some 6-7 yrs. My periods are so painful, I have to take at least 2 days off from work. I was told this morning by a fertility specialist that I've taken too long to start trying and because the endometriosis is in the right ovary along with a small fibroid MY CHANCES of getting pregnant has been seriously jeopardized.
Please what help/advice can you give as I am one step away from depression.Answer:
Please, don't despair, there is a lot you can do naturally to improve your situation. First, your age is fine. Many new time moms are over forties are delivering healthy babies and having healthy pregnancies.
Endometriosis, painful menses and fibroids are all connected to a very common condition that now doctors are calling "estrogen dominance."
It is often treated, in conventional medicine, by administering synthetic hormones with the birth control pill. This type of treatment is not curative but only masks the real problem. Synthetic hormones in birth control medicines are not identical to the molecule that the body makes, this causes side effects like estrogen dominance and the inability of the body to effectively eliminate excess hormones.
One of the most frequent patterns with estrogen dominance is to have excess estrogen in relation to progesterone, which is low.
"Estrogen dominance" increases with age as a result of increased toxicity and inability of the liver to properly metabolize hormones. It happens as a result of being exposed to "estrogen like" compounds present in the environment known as "xenoestrogens".The steps that you can apply regard dietary changes and life style changes, but they will make a huge difference.1. Detox
Since you have been on birth control for many years in the past, it is important to follow a fertility cleanse to help the body eliminate harmful toxins you accumulated during your life. This is very important to help you make healthy eggs.
When a woman is over 35, the egg quality decreases due to accumulation of toxins causing hormonal imbalance. The fertility cleanse helps the liver and the eliminate excess estrogens, which are the major cause of endometriosis and fibroids in women. Besides the liver, another organ that is cleansed during the fertility cleanse if the uterus. Women who suffer from painful
periods and endometriosis do not completely empty their uterine contents during menstruation. When old stagnant blood and debris remains inside, it causes inflammation. 2. Eat Well
The next step is to follow a fertility diet, which includes eating mostly organic foods free of hormones and pesticides because these contaminants contribute to fuelling the body with xenoestrogens. These are chemical compounds that mimic the action in the body of the natural hormone estrogen. The result is estrogen dominance and the development of conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis, which are estrogen dependent. By eliminating excess estrogen, you will decrease and eliminate these conditions.
These are important food nutrients like DIM, which is found in cruciferous vegetables. DIM is very effective in breaking down excess estrogens from the body.3. Make these life style changes
Avoid the following xenoestrogens:
Cosmetics and personal care products like shampoos and creams
Foods wrapped in plastic
commercially raised meat
Styrofoam cups and plates
Pesticides and herbicides
Hormone replacement medications
Detergents and laundry products
Perfumes, air fresheners
Paints and solvents4. Do castor oil pack and serf fertility massage.
These can be done easily at home a couple of time a week to increase blood circulation to the uterus and reproductive organs. They help shrink fibroids and eliminate endometriosis by breaking down scar tissue, reduce inflammation and adhesions.
5. A very useful therapy for painful periods and endometriosis that is 100% natural instead of birth control pill is natural progesterone cream applications. Natural progesterone cream is applied on the skin from days 8 to 26 of your cycle to assist in reducing the effects of estrogen, which stimulates endometrial growth. Symptoms of painful periods and endometriosis decrease within six months. Once the endometriosis is under control, natural progesterone cream can be applied from day 14 (after ovulation) until the menstrual period. If you apply progesterone cream from day 8 until the period you are suppressing ovulation and you should not try to conceive during this time. It is not dangerous, but you will not be ovulating and you may feel discouraged for no reason. When trying to conceive the progesterone cream should be applied after ovulation is detected by doing fertility charting.
6. It is also important to take enzymes and female herbs that help address lack of key nutrients the body needs to heal. These are also important for hormonal balance and healthy egg production.
