Endometriosis and Ovarian cysts

by Noorrina
(Rose Hill, Maurtius)

Hi am 35 years old and after 3 laparoscopy, I am still with endometriosis and 2 cysts one 4.8cms and the other 6cms. I am having two teaspoons of curcumin everyday since two weeks. I want to know what other natural therapies can I do since I don't want to have another laparoscopy again.

Laparoscopic laser surgery removes the endometrial implants and adhesions, but does not prevent them from reforming. It is possible to change your body tendency to form endometriosis and cysts through life style, diet and natural therapies.

Endometriosis causes infertility because it prevents embryo implantation. Even IVF treatment have a lower rate of success with endometriosis.

In your case it's the predisposition that needs to be addressed. One test that some doctors will recommend is anti-FSH antibodies, which will clearly indicate a predisposition to endometriosis.

Studies are shown that endometriosis is connected to autoimmunity and hypothyroidism, on one side. On the other side it is caused by hormone disruptors present in your food, water, and environment. This cause is, in my opinion the most common cause in the majority cases of endometriosis.

The hormone disruptors can affect the immune system and the thyroid gland thus leading to hypothyroidism and impaired immunity.

The most important thing you can do to prevent endometriosis and cyst formation from coming back is to avoid endocrine disruptors, also known as xenoestrogens. This is the best form of prevention.

Endometriosis and cyst formation are estrogen-dependent conditions. This means that cysts and endometrial implants grow and spread under the stimulation of estrogen.

When estrogen levels in the body normalize, the size and spreading of endometriosis can be arrested.

In natural health the best way to reduce estrogen dominance is to counterbalance its action with therapies that increase progesterone levels. These hormones should balance each other, but due to increased estrogen they can. The result it high estrogen and low progesterone.

By doing the following steps you will be able to successfully prevent endometriosis from coming back in the future:

1. Follow the fertility diet to support your intestinal health and support the immune system

2. Do a fertility Cleanse to support the liver and the uterus

3. Practice self-fertility massage with Castor oil therapy to address pain and inflammation

4. Take remedies and supplements specific for estrogen dominance imbalance

5. Implement specific life style changes

Here is a overview of what you can do to hep prevent endometriosis and cyst formation:

1. The Fertility Diet

The immune system plays a very important role in endometrial formation. According to researchers, endometrial cells spread as a result of impaired immune function, which can't recognize them as misplaced. Support your intestinal health by taking probiotics and foods high in fiber. Most women with impaired immune function and endometriosis may have many food allergies or food sensitivities. Avoiding the major allergenic foods like corn, wheat and dairy may give the immune
system a break.

Also, it is very important to avoid animal fats to reduce arachidonic acid, which causes inflammation and pain. High intake of anti-oxidants helps reduce adhesions.

Avoid the following foods: red meat, pork, dairy, peanuts, shellfish, caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, sugar, fish that may contain PCBs and dioxins.

Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetable. Have a daily fertility smoothie. Take a tsp of tumeric and cucurmin a day. Also don't forget to take omega 3 and fertility vitamins or a multivitamin to supplement your diet.

B complex for thyroid support and hormonal balance

Beta carotene, Zinc & Selenium for immune support

Magnesium to support progesterone production

Enzymes to break down and repair scar tissue.

2. The Fertility Cleanse

Your liver has the principal role to metabolize hormones including estrogens. When your liver is under-functioning due to excess toxins, it can't metabolize hormones properly. That's why a fertility cleanse is so important to give your liver the supports its needs to effectively eliminate excess estrogen and bring balance back into place.

3. Self fertility Massage with Castor Oil Packs

This easy technique can be very powerful in helping eliminate toxins from the uterus, ovarian and fallopian tubes and in helping repairs tissue damage caused by endometriosis like scars and adhesions. Castor oil therapy also helps decrease ovarian cysts and fibroids.

Homeopathic Remedies For Endometriosis

To reduce scar tissue take:
Thiosinaminum 6CH homeopathic remedy and Silicea 6X tissue salt preparation. Also Oleo europa 1DH and Viscum album 1DH gemmotherapy preparation will help heal damaged tissue and eliminate scars and decrease cysts.

To reduce estrogen activity Folliculinum 15CH on day 7, 14, and 21 of the menstrual cycle will help.

To increase progesterone levels the homeopathic remedy luteinum 15CH taken on day 21 of the menstrual cycle.

5. Life Style Changes

1. Do not use an IUD.

2. Avoid chemicals in your cosmetics and personal care products. Make sure your shampoo does not contain endocrine disruptors like parabens, Sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, petrolium, PEG, Phthalates, Propylene glyco, BHA, BHT, etc.

3. Avoid pesticides, insecticides and commercial cleaning products.

4. Use a shower filter to eliminated chlorinated water. Do not drink tap water. Drink filtered or mountain spring water you purchase in glass bottles.

5. Avoid plastic at all cost. plastic water bottle, plastic food containers, etc.

6. Do not heat your food in the microwave. If you really have to make sure it's not in a plastic container. Use ceramic or glass.

7. Do not use internal tampons, use only organic 100% cotton tampons.

I also have endometriosis. After reading your website, I have changed my diet and done self-fertility massage and my symptoms have completely disappeared. I am going to do the cleansing next and the other things you have mentioned. I am very positive about this change because I can tell from how I feel. The only thing that I am confused about is cosmetics. Where can I get safe ones?

High Fibre Foods
by: Noorrina

Wheat is considered to be a high fiber food. So why wheat is to be avoided in endometriosis cases?

What does UID means.

Endometriosis Diet
by: Maria

Hi Noorrina,
An IUD is an intra uterine device used as a form of contraception.
To have a high fiber diet you should eat vegetables, especially broccoli, cauliflower, leaks, onions, garlic, cabbage, etc. Theses vegetables help the body clear itself from estrogen.

High fiber foods are:

Apple with skin 1 medium 5 g
Blueberries 1 cup 4.2 g
Strawberries 1 cup 4.4 g
Raspberries 1 cup 6.4 g
Almonds 1 oz 4.2 g
Bran cereal 1 cup 19.9 g
Black beans 1 cup 13.9 g (cooked)
Lentils 1 cup 13.6 (cooked)
Kidney bean 1 cup 11.6 (cooked)
Oats 1 cup 12 g (rolled dry)
Quinoa 1 cup 8.4 (cooked)
Avocado 1 medium 11.8 g
Winter squash 1 cup 6.2 (cooked)
Kale 1cup 7.2 g (cooked)
Peas 1 cup 8.8 g (cooked)

Aim to a total of 25 to 30 g of fiber a day.

Wheat And Endometriosis
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

Why is wheat a no food for women with endometriosis?

The connection between wheat and endometriosis is that wheat contains phytic acid, which prevent mineral absorption. Also, wheat contains gluten which is thought to damage the walls of the small intestine causing celiac disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

This further reduces vitamin, and mineral uptake. Vitamins alike vitamin C, A, E and like magnesium, zinc, selenium, calcium and iron, which are very important in the treatment of endometriosis because they are very important in decreasing inflammation and supporting the immune system. Women with a strong immune system are more capable of eliminating endometriosis.

A study conducted in 2009, compared 120 women with endometriosis with 1,500 healthy women. The women with endometriosis had a laparoscopy done to confirm endometriosis. The result of this study was that women with celiac disease are four time more likely to suffer from endometriosis as well.

This study has been interpreted by many natural health practitioner treating endometriosis as an indication that endometriosis and wheat/gluten sensitivity or allergy may go hand in hand, thus recommending a wheat-free diet to all women with endometriosis.

As a result of this simple clinical practice, many women have reported decreased pain from endometriosis, reduced endometriosis spreading and even complete remission from endometriosis. Not all woman who have endometriosis also have IBS, celiac disease or full blown gluten or wheat allergy, but most women with endometriosis do seem to respond well with a wheat/gluten-free diet.

"Celiac disease may be subclinical and difficult to diagnose in adults. It has been associated with infertility and miscarriage but rarely with other gynecologic symptoms." (Obstet Gynecol .2002 May;99(5 Pt 2):937-9.)

I hope this helps you better understand why wheat and gluten should be avoided if you have endometriosis and trying to conceive. My personal thoughts on this topic are also that wheat, dairy and sugars are added unnecessarily to many packaged and restaurant's prepared foods. It's clearly an wheat over load! Read the labels and cook from scratch! Try to go gluten-free for 2-3 months and see if this makes a difference in your case.

Food Diet for Endometriosis, Please Help
by: Anne

iam a 26 yr old diagnosed with endometrial cyst fixed on my right ovary.. I dont want to go under the knife and I want to know the holistic food diet and exercise I can do for it to stop growing and be totaLLy cured.. I wiLL be waiting for your reply good Ladies..

Hi Anne,

There are natural things you can do to support your body, if you have an endometrial cyst before resorting to surgery.

The OvarianWise Kit is a good way to start.

Endometriosis is often association with xenoestrogen and poor hormonal balance between estrogen and progesterone.

Chemical compounds called xenoestrogens may act in sensitive people as hormonal disruptors, offsetting the delicate hormonal balance between estrogen and progesterone.

Your diet is also very important. The Endometriosis diet can help improve symptoms and help decrease the spreading of the endometriosis.

Many Blessings!
