Question on Herbal Remedies for Infertility
We just found out today that my husband has a low sperm count as well as I have irregular cycles. The doctor we went to suggested IVF and a few other options but all are too costly and before I start taking out loans, I wanted a more natural option.
My problem is after I read the article about what herbs to take to help what conditions I am still unclear on which ones would benefit me the most. My cycles are irregular as I mentioned. I will spot before and after my cycle, which when I get it, last about 7 days, is heavy and I get painful cramps, bloating, irritable and weepy. The spotting that I get a week before and a week after my cycle is a brownish color and is just enough so I have to wear a pantie liner. Occasionally I will get some bright red blood but not much.
My OBGYN gave me a hormone pill that I took and on my next cycle I seemed fine, I had no spotting before or after. However after that one miracle I am now back to my same problem of spotting. I know you get this question a lot but, I am not sure which herbs and homeopathic medicines would be right for me. Could you please suggest some that I could try to correct my irregular periods and my husband’s low sperm count?
Thanks for the any help you can give.
Answer to Herbal Remedies for InfertilityHi Terra,
Having brown spotting before and after menses indicates poor blood circulation to the pelvic region and poor hormonal balance. Your uterus may need increased blood flow of oxygen rich blood. The nutrients in the blood also need to reach the ovaries for healthy ovulation and the uterus for endometrial health.
Supporting endometrial lining and help maintain hormonal balance with herbal remedies is key to maintain a healthy menstrual periods and ovulation for conception.
I would recommend
Endo-Ex to support hormonal balance, healthy hormonal production and endometrial health and
Mens-Reduce to help address PMS symptoms, heavy and prolonged menses, clotting, painful periods, bloating, weeping and irritability.
Endo-Ex:
This herbal remedy has been formulated to support the lining of the uterus to help healthy menstrual flow. It contains:
Vitex that has been shown in many clinical studies to support regular ovulation cycles by stimulating the pituitary gland to increase luteinizing hormone levels. In fact, it is the LH surge that stimulates the ovary to release the egg.
Vitex
is highly regarded in herbal medicine as it has been proven to solve virtually any gynecological problems related to poor hormonal balance from luteal phase defect (low progesterone) to high levels of prolactin and follicle stimulation hormone (FSH) and low ovarian response.
If your periods are irregular, you may not be ovulating regularly each month or if you do you may ovulate later than usual. Because of this, your periods will be late and clotted. Late periods and delayed ovulation is a sign that the LH surge does not occur in due time. Once ovulation occurs, the corpus luteum produces progesterone. If progesterone levels are low, the corpus luteum begins to break down too early causing spotting before the menstrual periods.
Don Quai is another herb present in this remedy, this herb helps maintain regular periods and support estrogen levels. It is very common in women with irregular periods to have estrogen levels that fluctuate. High estrogen levels cause delayed ovulation and longer follicular phase (first half of the menstrual cycle). When estrogen levels drop sharply, they stimulates the endometrium to shed itself and spotting is the result. Don Quai is the herb that has been used for centuries to maintain regular estrogen levels.
Milk Thistle is added to many herbal formulas for its gentle ability to help the liver function. Hormones are made in the liver. When the liver is under functioning due to poor diet and environmental toxins, the hormones will be out of balance as the liver cannot keep up. Supporting the liver also helps stimulate elimination of excess estrogen that causes poor ovulation, endometriosis, fibroids, etc.
Discorrea villosa has an amazing property when it comes to soother the female menstrual periods by treating PMS and cramps during periods. It regulates the female system as well as used in treating infertility. Discorrea is anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic and is a great pain reliever.
Viburnum opulus has an affinity for the uterus and the endometrium. It stimulates optimal uterine functioning. This remedy is used in homeopathic medicine to treat weaknesses associated with the menstrual flow as a result of poor circulation to the reproductive organs.
Mens-ReduceThis remedy is so useful for PMS and periods. It contains both herbal and homeopathic remedies, specifically selected to maintain normal blood flow during periods while helping support the emotional aspect of premenstrual syndrome. The homeopathic remedies in MensReduce have an affinity with PMS symptoms like bloating, breast tenderness, low iron levels, irritable and weepy before and during periods. I really love this remedy!
