How To Get Pregnant Fast

by Cora Lee Lewing

I have a boy friend and he is 31 year old and we want to have a baby. I'm nineteen how can I get pregnant with him.

Hi Cora Lee,

If you are wondering how to get pregnant, start by charting your cycle. This will show you when you are most fertile during the month so that you can time intercourse to maximize conception.

How To Predict Ovulation

The trick to get pregnant fast is to have sex one or two days before ovulation, provided that you have fertile cervical mucus. By doing fertility charting, you will be able to:

Watch for changes in cervical mucus.

Just before ovulation, you might notice an increase in clear, slippery vaginal mucus, which looks like raw egg whites. After ovulation, your vaginal mucus will become cloudy and sticky or disappear entirely. Avoid douching after sex and use sperm friendly vaginal lubricants. I recommend Pre-seed, which is designed for women who are trying to conceive.

Track your basal body temperature (BBT).

Ovulation causes a slight increase in basal body temperature (BBT). Take your temperature every morning before you get out of bed, by using BBT thermometer.

Record your readings on a fertility chart to detect your fertility patter. You are most fertile during three days before your temperature rises.

Use a fertility monitor

The best way to detect ovulation is to invest in a fertility monitor. I recommend using Ovacue fertility monitor because it is very accurate and tells you 5-7 days in advance when you are about to ovulate, giving
you lots of time to plan intercourse and maximize your chances of getting pregnant.

Have sex frequently

Have sex each day or every other day during your fertile window.

Take fertility vitamins.

A lack of vitamins, especially folic acid, during pre conception can cause birth defects. Take fertility vitamins if you are planning to conceive to enhance you fertility, support your ovulation patterns and to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

Have a healthy diet and life style

Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, over-the-counter and prescription medications (talk to your doctor and ask if they are safe while trying to conceive).

Eat lots of fruits and vegetable and avoid pesticides. Also, make sure to consume only meat, eggs and dairy that have been raised organically without the use of antibiotics. Avoid soy products, hydrogenated fats, tap water, artificial sweeteners, all processed foods containing additives like monosodium glutamate, sodium nitrate, potassium bromate, aspartame, Acesulfame-K, food coloring, etc.

Increase sperm health

To improve sperm health, it is important to avoid heating the male reproductive area by avoiding hot tubs and saunas. It's a good idea to avoid tight underwear and bicycling while trying to conceive. Smoke, alcohol and stress are known to lower sperm count.

Taking male fertility vitamins is a good way to prepare for a healthy pregnancy. You can do a home sperm test to determine if male sperm is in the appropriate count range. In order to conceive male sperm should be 20 million sperm per milliliter of ejaculate.

I hope this gets you started on the right path to a healthy conception and pregnancy.

Fertility Blessings!
