Poor Ovarian Response, Low AMH Test Result and IVF Treatment

by Shaid

My wife age is 35/36 having thyroid problems. In 2005 she gave birth to a male child with congenital defect and ultimately the child died after two months. Since then she went through two surgeries one for fibroid and laparoscopy of Fallopian tube. The Doctor told that IVF is the only treatment now. The AMH test is showing poor results 1.4 and 0.8 in the month of October and December. So the doctor is advising us that we have only two options either egg donation or adoption. I am already in good position regarding the availability of good quality sperm. Can you help me please? Write the possibilities.

Increasing Ovarian Reserve
by: Maria Gioia Atzori

The AMH test is thought to reflect the size of the "ovarian reserve," or remaining egg supply. This is due to many factors, some are hormonal like poor ovarian response, hypothyroidism, age, stress, lack of important fertility nutrients, toxicity, etc.
The age factor is important for women over 43, your wife has still some time.
When a woman has few remaining follicles have low anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) levels like your wife, while women with many, but small follicles have high AMH hormone values and suffer from PCOS. The best value for healthy ovarian reserve is over 1.0 ng/ml in order to have better response to ovarian stimulation for IVF, thus having more egg retrieved because having more eggs ensure that more embryos will be produced and some of those will successfully implant.
At this time your wife is not a good candidate for this procedure because not many eggs will be retrieved. I assume that her values is decreasing. Having said that she is not a desperate case, but certainly it will take some time to restore.
The aim is to increase her ovarian reserves to make her a good candidate for IVF.

This will take some time, but if your wife is willing to try the following are some recommendation about natural therapies that would help her.

1. Follow a fertility cleanse, you can find a great fertility cleanse kit here.

2. Increase her intake of fertility foods and supplement specific for increasing ovarian reserve when preparing for IVF.

3. To stimulate ovulation and heal any fallopian tube scarring and uterine debris, I would recommend homeopathic medicine.

4. Find ways to release stress and increase circulation to the ovaries by doing self fertility massage.

I hope this helps you get started. Thank you for submitting your question.

Many blessings to your and your wife,
